Photos and Description
In and around Battersea Square you will find an interesting and diverse selection of restaurants, cafe's bars and pubs. There are local shops , grocers and delicatessens to cater for your daily supplies plus a very good hairdresser, dry-cleaner, dentist etc.
Walking along the River Thames and take a peak at the houseboats - people really do live there - and watch out for the swan couples who are locals on the river and rule supreme.
Poodle across to wonderful Battersea Park where it's so laid back even the bicycles recline! Feed the ducks, jog or play tennis, sit around and watch the world go by or attend one of the numerous art and antique fairs held throughout the year. If you are here in early November don't miss the fantastic firework display that the park hosts for Guy Fawkes night - it is truly marvelous and on your doorstep.
If you have little ones there is an excellent play park on Vicarage Crescent; Battersea Park offers a state of the art play-park that caters for all ages plus a quaint zoo.
Clapham Junction mainline station is a 15 minute walk away. This is one of the busiest London train stations with numerous connections into London, Kent and Surrey. The area around the station offers many high street shops and restaurants, for example Marks & Spencers, Sainsbury's Supermarket, Starbucks and Debenhams Department store.
Battersea offers a convenient location for:
The A3 heading out of London
Chelsea and Fulham are just across the river
Wandsworth, Putney and Vauxhall are either side
